Revelation 3:14-22

Message to Laodicea

14  "To the angel of the church in (A)Laodicea write: (B)The Amen, (C)the faithful and true Witness, (D)the [a]Beginning of the creation of God, says this:

15 '(E)I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; (F)I wish that you were cold or hot. 16 'So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth. 17 'Because you say, "(G)I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing," and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked, 18 I advise you to (H)buy from Me (I)gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and (J)white garments so that you may clothe yourself, and that (K)the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see. 19 '(L)Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and (M)repent. 20 'Behold, I stand (N)at the door and (O)knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, (P)I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. 21 '(Q)He who overcomes, I will grant to him (R)to sit down with Me on My throne, as (S)I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. 22 '(T)He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'"

Hebrews 12:4-11

A Father's Discipline

4 (A)You have not yet resisted (B)to the point of shedding blood in your striving against sin;

5 and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons, "(C)MY SON, DO NOT REGARD LIGHTLY THE DISCIPLINE OF THE LORD, NOR (D)FAINT WHEN YOU ARE REPROVED BY HIM;

6 (E)FOR THOSE (F)WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE DISCIPLINES, AND HE SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES."

7 It is for discipline that you endure; (G)God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline?

8 But if you are without discipline, (H)of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.

9 Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we (I)respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to (J)the Father of spirits, and (K)live?

10 For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good, (L)so that we may share His holiness.

11 All discipline (M)for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the (N)peaceful fruit of righteousness.

1 Corinthians 10:13

13 No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and (A)God is faithful, who will not allow you to be (B)tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.

2 Corinthians 7:9-11

9 I now rejoice, not that you were made sorrowful, but that you were made sorrowful to the point of repentance; for you were made sorrowful according to the will of God, so that you might not suffer loss in anything through us.

10 For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a (A)repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death.

11 For behold what earnestness this very thing, this godly sorrow, has produced in you: what vindication of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what (B)longing, what zeal, what (C)avenging of wrong! In everything you (D)demonstrated yourselves to be innocent in the matter.

Revelation 1:9-20

The Patmos Vision

9 (A)I, John, your (B)brother and (C)fellow partaker in the tribulation and (D)kingdom and (E)perseverance which are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos (F)because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

10 I was [a](G)in the Spirit on (H)the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a loud voice (I)like the sound of a trumpet,

11 saying, "(J)Write in a book what you see, and send it to the (K)seven churches: to (L)Ephesus and to (M)Smyrna and to (N)Pergamum and to (O)Thyatira and to (P)Sardis and to (Q)Philadelphia and to (R)Laodicea."

12 Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me. And having turned I saw (S)seven golden lampstands;

13 and (T)in the middle of the lampstands I saw one (U)like [b]a son of man, (V)clothed in a robe reaching to the feet, and (W)girded across His chest with a golden sash.

14 His head and His (X)hair were white like white wool, like snow; and (Y)His eyes were like a flame of fire.

15 His (Z)feet were like burnished bronze, when it has been made to glow in a furnace, and His (AA)voice was like the sound of many waters.

16 In His right hand He held (AB)seven stars, and out of His mouth came a (AC)sharp two-edged sword; and His (AD)face was like (AE)the sun shining in its strength.

17 When I saw Him, I (AF)fell at His feet like a dead man And He (AG)placed His right hand on me, saying, "(AH)Do not be afraid; (AI)I am the first and the last,

18 and the (AJ)living One; and I (AK)was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have (AL)the keys of death and of Hades.

19 "Therefore (AM)write (AN)the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place (AO)after these things.

20 "As for the (AP)mystery of the (AQ)seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the (AR)seven golden lampstands: the (AS)seven stars are the angels of (AT)the seven churches, and the seven (AU)lampstands are the seven churches.
